History
 
The population of Sarigyugh moved there from a district lying between the villages of Ghoshghotan and Dovegh in Noyemberyan. The present territoty has been mentioned since 1700. In ancient times the area was surrounded with forests. Untill 1953 the village had been called Sri and then it was renamed to Sarigyugh. It shares a border with Azerbaijan.
