History
 
Baghanis is a border village located on Ijevan-Noyemberian-Bagratashen-Tbilisi interstate highway. It is an old community first mentioned in historical chronicles of the V century. There are ruins of a church constructed in the same period of time. The settlement was ruined in 1222-23 by Mongol Tatars then had been restored in the middle of the XIII century. To defend the village from aggressors local residents have built Karaberd Fort

Due to obsolesced system water losses are significant.
About 30% of bomb-damages houses need some rehabilitation.

Economic Assessment
 
The area of the community is about 1,259 ha of which 463 are pastures, 251 ha arable lands and 65 ha forests. Local farmers cultivate wheat, barley, and some vegetables. Baghanis has only 250 heads of cattle of which 210 are milk cows. Milk productivity of cows is very low 1,000 ℓ. There is a mill in the community, which employs 15 locals.
