Economic Assessment

The relatively large pastures and arable lands are inefficiently used.
Machinery is obsolete.
Animal husbandry has been in decline for the past decade.
Remoteness from main markets from is a serious constraint for the development.
The village has 6 small shops.
The climate and environment are most favorable for bee-keeping and animal husbandry.
As in many rural communities, through introduction of new breeds and improvement of the local ones, the milk production will increase both in quantity and quality.
Setting up a slaughter house and a meat processing enterprise in this or another one of central communities would benefit the whole sub-region.
The region has a number of carpet factories; possible expansion of the industry could create jobs for the local population.
The community produces meat, milk, potatoes, and wheat. There are no processing facilities and the sales are not sufficient.
There are 40 different kinds of tractors and 28 trucks.

This is the regular train that serves the needs of the people of Armenia's Shirak region. It has not been replaced for more than forty years and still bears the (now rusty)symbols of the Soviet Empire. Convenience and comfort are two things one will not find here.
