Economic Assessment

The relatively large pastures, grasslands and arable lands are inefficiently used.
Machinery is obsolete.
Animal husbandry is in decline.
Remoteness from main markets from is a serious constraint for the development.
The lack of machinery can be solved through the system of privileged loans.
As in many rural communities, through introduction of new breeds and improvement of the local ones, the milk production will increase both in quantity and quality.
The region has a number of carpet factories; possible expansion of the industry could create jobs for the local population.
Establishment of a milk collection point in the village to coordinate the sales to the Ashtarak kat dairy factory.
Setting up a slaughter house and a meat processing enterprise in this or another one of central communities would benefit the whole sub-region.

This is the regular train that serves the needs of the people of Armenia's Shirak region. It has not been replaced for more than forty years and still bears the (now rusty)symbols of the Soviet Empire. Convenience and comfort are two things one will not find here.
