Economic Assessment

The relatively large pastures, grasslands and arable lands are inefficiently used. Only 90 ha of 426 ha arable lands was cultivated in 2005.
The community does not have enough working age population.
Agrimachinery is obsolete.
Animal husbandry is in decline.
Remoteness from main markets from is a serious constraint for the development.
The climate and available land resources are favorable for the development of animal husbandry and farming.
Improvement of local breeds and import of new ones could boost animal husbandry in the village.
The community can be included in the project of reviving Tashirs once famous cheese production.
Establishing a slaughter house and a meat processing enterprise in this or another one of central communities would benefit the whole sub-region.
The region has a number of carpet factories; possible expansion of the industry could create jobs for the local population.
Availability of privileged loans to Dzyunashoghs farmers will substantially ease realization of any agricultural development project.
The community has 9 tractors and 5 trucks.
Main crops are wheat, barley and potatoes.

This is the regular train that serves the needs of the people of Armenia's Shirak region. It has not been replaced for more than forty years and still bears the (now rusty)symbols of the Soviet Empire. Convenience and comfort are two things one will not find here.
