The village was founded in 1983. It is located south-east of the Armavir province. It is rich with fruit orchards. The community was originally formed by newcomers from Shirak, Aragadzotn and Armavir regions, many people immigrated also from Javakhk.

Shen NGO-renovation and furnish of the school (200 pupils), construction of local heating system and provision of computers to the school, teachers training; planting of 70 ha apricot orchard; construction of drying rooms; rehabilitation and furnish of the medical center with stomatological department; renovation of kindergarten (50 children); establishment of village head office and post-office
