| Yeraskh, formerly Arazdayan, was renamed in 1968. In 1940, 15 apartments were built near the railway station for the railroad workers. There are many swamps in the village and as a result of the sanitation problem, the village was later moved to the eastern side of the Yerevan-Nakhijevan highway. Yeraskh is the southern gate of Armenia and shares borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey. The village is located across from Mount Ararat.
