History
 
The community of Ranchpar was established in 1929. It was composed of Azeri and Yezidi population. In 1988-1989, the Azeri population left Armenia and moved to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenians evicted from Azerbaijan immigrated to Ranchpar. At the present there are 361 farms, with about 10% belonging to Yezidis.
The Ranchpar community borders Turkey. It is located on the east bank of the Araks River, at a distance of 500 meters from the water’s edge.
