General Information: Most schools in the Khashtarak cluster villages are the remnants of Soviet times and no longer correspond to the modern learning standards. Some schools have been partially renovated as part of the Government program of upgrading the learning facilities. Still, most schools are in dire condition and in much need of comprehensive renovation works to offer the children of the region the best possible learning facilities.

Aknaghbyur
Current situation: Since the construction of the school, the building has not yet undergone basic renovation.

Primary renovations: In order to offer more standard facilities, reparation is needed on the heating and sanitation systems, the parquet, classroom doors and windows, as well as the roof of the school. It is also imperative for the children’s health, that the sports hall be equipped with a heating system and the existing roof should be renovated.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, 618 m2 will be renovated.

Duration: Approximate duration of the construction phase is around 252 days.

Number of kids in the school: Currently 48 children attend the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 18 people work in the school from which 13 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.


Ditavan
Current situation: The existing secondary school of the community is located in a one-storey building with total area of 218 m2.

Primary renovations: The current building’s capacity is not enough to support the needs of the community; therefore, an extension should be built, and the existing building should undergo renovation. Only then can we offer the children the type of facilities they deserve to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Area to be repaired: The total area of the school to be built will be up to 200m2 and 218 m2 will be renovated.

Duration: Approximate duration of the construction phase is around 252 days.

Number of kids in the school: Currently there are 48 children in Ditavan School.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 21 people work in the school from which 14 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Lusadzor
The school is in a good condition.

Number of kids in the school: Currently 48 children attend the school.

Azatamut
Azatamut school Current Situation: The school has been recently renovated and is in good condition.

Primary renovations: Although the school has been recently renovated, the sports facility of the school needs heating system as it has been omitted during the renovation.

Area to be repaired: The total area of the sports hall is 270 m2.

Duration: Approximate duration of the construction phase is around 62 days.

Number of kids in the school: Currently the school has 211 children.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 40 people work in the school from which 29 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Khashtarak
Current situation: Since the construction of the school, the building has not yet undergone basic renovation.

The School is composed of three buildings. The first block, where the elementary school is located is a two-storey building; the second block, where main classes are held, is a three-storey building; and the third one, a one-storey building.

The total land area of the school is 8,730 m2 and that of the school building is 2,844 m2. The condition of all three buildings is very bad and all need major reconstruction.

Primary renovations: To offer the students the proper learning facilities, reparation is needed on the heating and sanitation systems, the parquet, classroom doors and windows, as well as the roof of the school. To uphold their health, the sports hall is in need of a heating system and the roof should also be renovated. To ensure the safety of our children during school hours the existing fences should be renovated and new ones should be installed where needed.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, three blocks of the school building will be renovated with total area of around 2,844 m2.

Duration: Approximate duration of the construction phase is around 280 days.

Number of kids in the school: Currently 251 children attend the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 44 people work in the school from which 31 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Lusahovit
Lusahovit School Current Situation: The school is in poor condition and needs renovation.

Primary renovations: To offer the students the proper learning facilities, reparation is needed on the heating and sanitation systems, the parquet, classroom doors and windows, as well as the roof of the school.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project the school building will be renovated with total area of around 240 m2, which is the total area of the school.

Duration: Approximate duration of the construction phase is around 180 days.

Number of kids in the school: Currently there are 45 children attending the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 17 people work in the school from which 12 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.
