General Information: Most schools in the Lori cluster villages are the remnants of Soviet times and no longer correspond to the modern learning standards. Most schools are in dire condition and in much need of comprehensive renovation works to offer the children of the region the best possible learning facilities.

Artsni
Current situation: The school was built in 1962. The two story structure occupies around 3600 m2. The school is a T shaped structure that consists of three buildings and has a basement. The central building includes cafeteria, event hall, utility rooms a gym and the total area is 1235 m2. The other two buildings of the school occupy around 800 m2 each and were planned as classroom space.

Primary renovations: The whole structure is in unsatisfactory condition. The roof, the walls and the floors of the school all need to be repaired along with replacing the windows, doors, the electric wiring and installation of a heating system. The school premises need to be improved, along with the modification and modernization of the exterior. The school also needs new sanitary units.

Area to be repaired: It is not viable to reconstruct the whole area of the school but instead focus on rebuilding around 1500 m2, which would meet all the requirements of an educational process.

Number of kids in school: Currently, there are 55 students in the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 21 people work in the school from which 14 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Apaven
Current situation: The community does not have a school; the children use the school of the neighboring Artsni village that is 1.5-2 km away. The probable solution to this school issue is a school bus that will ease the daily transportation of kids to the school in the neighboring community thus maximizing the efficiency on one hand and minimizing the expenses.

Number of kids in school: There are 9 students in the village who attend school in Artsni.

Dzoramut
Current situation: The school was built in 1962, as part of a master plan for the region. The school itself and the current conditions are identical to those of Artsni village.

Primary renovations: The proposed restoration plan is also similar and comprises of rebuilding around 1500m2 of the building, which will include the classrooms and all the necessary facilities.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, 1500 m2 should be reconstructed.

Number of kids in school: Currently, there are 84 students in the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 26 people work in the school from which 17 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Dzyunashogh
Current situation: The school is located in two story building with total area of around 1783 m2. It is composed of two separate buildings. The classrooms are located in one building. The second building is for student’s sport activities. The first building’s total area is 1360 m2.

Primary renovations: The school is in poor condition and needs renovation.

Reparation is needed on the floors, doors and windows as well as the roof of the school. The school building also needs heating system and installation of sanitary units.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, 1360 m2 should be renovated.

Number of kids in school: Currently, there are 49 students in the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 22 people work in the school from which 14 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Gogavan
Current situation: The community has a small elementary school, which is in critical condition and beyond repair.

Primary renovations: A new 250 m2 school building needs to be built to accommodate the needs of the community.

Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, 250 m2 school building needs to be built.

Number of kids in school: There are 7 students in the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 4 people work in the school from which 3 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.

Paghaghbyur
Current situation: The school is located in a one story building (28x14 m). One part of the building was constructed during 1960s with wooden floors and walls. The other part of the building was constructed during 70s with concrete walls. The building also has a basement. The newest part of the building is in good condition but the rest of the structure needs renovation.

Primary renovations: Whole building of the school needs renovation. The roof, walls and floor of the building are in very bad condition, windows and doors also should be renovated. The school building needs heating and sanitation systems.
Area to be repaired: Under the proposed project, 532 m2 school building needs to be renovated.

Number of kids in school: Currently, there are 24 students in the school.

Number of employees in the school: Currently 7 people work in the school from which 4 are teachers and the rest is the administrative staff.
