Yerevan Conservatory Best Student 2012On February 22, Hayastan Fund rewarded Haik Suqiasyan, a third year student at orchestra faculty of Yerevan State Conservatory, with Best student 2012 prize. The prize comprises of a diploma of recognition and Hrair and Martha Albarian scholarship.
In 2008 Haik was awarded with prize at Renaissance international festival, in 2010 he won the first prize at Avet Gabrielyan and Sargis Aslamazyan republican contest. Haik is planning to take part in Richard Wagner festival in Bayreuth, Germany in March.
The prize equaling to $500 US was founded in 2009 by Argentinean-Armenian benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Hrair and Martha Albarian. The benefactors select the winner from a list of candidates submitted by the Yerevan Conservatory committee. In 2009 the prize was awarded to Mary Khojanyan, student of violin class, in 2010 to Davit Melqonyan, student of saxophone class, in 2011 to Anna Margaryan, student of violin class, and in 2012 to Arsen Stepanyan, student of vocal class.
