NEWS Press Releases $20.8 million pledged at Telethon 2010
$20.8 million pledged at Telethon 2010
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is pleased to announce that it successfully concluded its 13th International Telethon by raising yet another record breaking $20.8 million in pledges. The live 12 hour show aired from KCET Hollywood Studios and reached millions of households globally on satellite and cable networks, as well as Internet.
The live program featured a rich presentation of Armenian music and entertainment, as well as celebrities, political and community leaders, and long time Armenia Fund supporters and donors.
The Telethon culminates Armenia Fund’s global fundraising campaigns that included Phone-a-thons, gala dinners, charity concerts, radiothons as well as the annual benefit gala held in Moscow and the 11th Pan-European Phone-a-thon held in Paris. The funds collected through the 2010 fundraising drive will help provide solutions to the critical issues of clean drinking water and irrigation water in Artsakh. We will also continue our ambitious rural development program in the border villages of Armenia and Artsakh through a comprehensive and embracive development strategy, bringing visible, feasible and profound change where it is needed most.
We will accept donations through the Haypost offices across Armenia until the end of the year and on-line on web site. SMS donations can be made by November 30, by sending a text message including the donor’s name and surname /or empty/ to the short number 8000, which will transfer 500 AMD to the Fund’s account. To date, close to 20 000 SMS donations and 10 000 post office donations have been accepted.
We would like to inform that by December 15 a press-conference will be invited by the executive director of the Hayastan Fund Ara Vardanyan providing detailed information regarding total number of donors and pledges.

Hayastan All-Armenian Fund expresses its sincere gratitude to Armenian communities across the world for growing support to the Fund’s nation building mission.
