The Ceremony of President of the Republic Awards to best IT students was held
On September 30 the annual ceremony of President of the Republic Awards to best IT students of Armenia took place.
On September 30, the annual ceremony of President of the Republic Awards to best IT students of Armenia took place. 29 best students from the mentioned field were awarded. The ceremony was organized and held jointly by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and Synopsys Inc., under the auspices of RA President.
29 nominees out of 134 candidates, considered by the Presidential Awards Council, were granted with awards. The awardees are coming from the State Engeneering University of Armenia, Yerevan State University, the Engineering College of American University of Armenia, and the Russian-Armenian State University, A. Shahinyan Physics-Math Special School, Quant College, Anania Shirakatsi College, Photon College from Gyumri, and Evrika College of Vanadzor. The “Grand Pree” was awarded to Narek Saribekyan from Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. Naira Mkrtchyan, the 15-year-old pupil from Gyumri Photon College was acknowledged as the Best Female Student for her exceptional skills in IT.

The Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan‘s participation was especially inspiring for the young winners. The President congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of the IT sphere development for Armenia.
Ara Vardanyan, acting executive director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and co-director of the Board of the Annual Presidential Educational Awards, congratulated the winners.
“This award is a high responsibility for you. I believe that you will play a leading role in the progress of Armenia’s IT sphere. If in the past Armenia was seen as a provider of a cheap work force, now it’s considered as a country of quality specialists”.

In 2005, with the approval of Armenia’s former president, Robert Kocharyan, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund entered into an agreement with Synopsys to establish the Annual Educational Awards for the best IT students in Armenia. During the following years the number of nominations and educational institutions included increased.
Armina Darbinyan, advisor to the executive director of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, summed up that Fund has been implementing a wide range of projects supporting educational, scientific and cultural spheres as well as talented and gifted young people.
