EVENTS Annual Phoneathons
Volunteers from the participating countries work the phones throughout the four-day event, with calls being placed 12 hours a day. Stationed in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and Toulouse, the volunteers call to Armenian families, businesses, and organizations across Europe to request financial support for the ongoing development of Armenia and Artsakh.
In the history of the Phoneathon, over 411,000 phone calls have been made and a total of almost 10 million euros has been raised through donations by close to 21,000 supporters. All proceeds have been used for the implementation of infrastructure-development projects in Armenia and Artsakh.
The funds Argentine, Brazil, U.S. Eastern region affiliates, as well as the executive board has also conducted phoneathons in their countries.
Funds raised through last year’s Pan-European Phoneathon were used to implement vital water-infrastructure projects in close to ten rural communities in Artsakh and the Tavush Region, renovate and modernize the Music Library of Yerevan’s Tchaikovsky School, refurbish the Gyumri Children’s Home, build a water network in Shushi’s Karin Tak village, and carry out several agricultural initiatives in Tavush.
