Mataghis village is located in Nagorno Karabakh, Martakert region. During the national liberation struggle of the NKR, the Mataghis village has been occupied and ruined by the enemy. Among the tens of destroyed structures was the school building. The village was reconstructed, but there was no school building and the lessons for 66 pupils were conducted in the houses adjusted for that purpose.

Project

One of the first projects of the Fund after April 2016 was the reconstruction of the school. Today, the students of the village continue their classes in a fully rebuilt educational center. The renovation of the school became reality thanks to the support of the Armenian community of Toronto, Canada. The school was built in 2006 by the same community. The benefactor from Toronto Perch Lulejian participated in the relief effort by sponsoring the provision of an ambulance.
