With the financial support of Mr. and Mrs. Armen and Berjouhi Nalbandian of Toronto, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has further developed the high school of Nalbandyan, in Armenia’s Armavir Region, by implementing a set of major enhancements on the grounds of the campus. The improvements include the construction of outdoors basketball and volleyball courts, a workout area complete with athletic equipment, and a racetrack. In addition, the area behind the school’s main building has been paved.

The school was completely renovated and provided with new furniture and equipment in 2016, through the sponsorship of the Nalbandians. The refurbished campus, which currently has 551 students, was inaugurated in August 2016, with the opening ceremony attended by the benefactors and other guests from Toronto. The Fund has also built a state-of-the-art gym adjacent to the campus, further enriching the daily lives of students.

The Nalbandians’ ongoing support includes their annual sponsorship of university scholarships for the school’s top ten graduates.

The Nalbandian family, who are benefactor members of the Hayastan Foundation Toronto, also support the construction of homes for low-income Artsakh families with five or more children. To date, the Nalbandian couple’s children, Raffi, Nora, and Ara, have sponsored the construction of two houses in Chartar, and another in Kusapat.
