Hayastan All-Armenian Fund completed renovation works in the B block of the Nork infection hospital in Yerevan. Through sponsorship of Brazilian affiliate of the Fund the second and third floors of the block have been entirely renovated. This is the sixth project implemented during the last four years in the hospital through the financial support of Brazilian Armenians.

“This is the case when donors undertake continuous sponsorship of projects in the same institution. This comes to prove that Armenians worldwide continue trusting in the Hayastan Fund,” said Ara Vardanyan, executive director of the Fund. “There are still two blocks to be renovated and the whole hospital will have comfortable and well-appointed wards,” added Mr. Vardanyan.

The projects Hayastan Fund has carried out in the hospital since 2005 include reconstruction of Intensive Care Unit, Intestinal Infections Department, and Infectious Diseases Department, installation of a new roof on one of the hospital’s two main wings, the installation of a heating system, and the construction of a boiler room.
“By reconstructing these two units the Hayastan Fund has done a great job,” said Harutyun Kushkyan, Armenian minister of health.

“We are grateful to our Brazilian compatriots for their continuous support. This noble act motivated local businessmen to stretch a hand to the upgrading project of the hospital,” mentioned Head of the hospital Ara Asoyan in his interview.
He informed that last year around 4800 patients have received in-patient and 2350 out-patient treatment in the renovated units. Now, the management tries to make possible the furnishing of the hospital, which is also of significant importance for the patients.
