Agreement of Cooperation signed between General Council of French Hauts-de Seine Province and Administration of Armenia’s Tavush region

-On March 4, 2011 a cooperation agreement was signed between the General Council of French Hauts-de Seine Province and Administration of Armenia’s Tavush region.

With support of the Hauts-de Seine Province some agricultural development initiatives will be carried out in Tavush province. In particular, irrigation system will be improved, agricultural bases will be established, some new kinds of cows will be brought to promote cattle-breeding. At the same time the beneficiary communities will be provided with seeds and seedlings.

Dignitaries and guests attending the ceremony included the ambassador of Armenia in France Vigen Chitechyan, chairman of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s French affiliate Bedros Terzian and vice-chairman Michel Pazoumian.

In his speech Mr. Patrik Devejian, president of the General Council of Hauts-de-Seine said that by the agreement the Hauts-de Seine Province continues its support to the population of Armenia’s Tavush province.
Tavush Governor Armen Ghularyan thanked the Hauts-de Seine Province for its assistance and mentioned that the Tavush province has favorable conditions for agricultural development.

For two years now the French Province of Hauts-de Seine supports the Tavush region allocating annual grants of 500 000 Euros. Another 300 000 Euros were donated to the region by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s French affiliate.
